Significance The Tailem Bend lime kilns are one of the few commercially based lime kiln complexes remaining in South Australia and are a rare example of commercial lime kilns in areas other than the Yorke Peninsula. They are the largest known and best preserved example of early 20th century lime kilns in the State. (HSA 6/1999).
