Registered Name Former Tailem Bend Ferry Landing
Significance The Tailem Bend ferry landing was one of the last government timber jetty type landings to be built on the River Murray and is the only substantially intact example remaining. This landing represents a stage in the development of ferry crossings on the river, when timber landings were standard. Since 1839 ferry crossings on the River Murray have played an important role in the development of the state's transport network and its links to the eastern states.
