DESCRIPTION

Registered Name St James Anglican Church, Graveyard, Rectory and Bell Tower
Significance St James is the second oldest extant Anglican church building in South Australia, completed in 1847. As such it is directly associated with the early spread and development of religion in the state and the priority given to the erection of places of religious worship. St James remains virtually as it was constructed and is a good example of an early Anglican church, complete with graveyard and rectory, providing physical evidence of the role played by the church in the early community of South Australia.
