| Significance |
The physical features and ruined buildings at Blanchewater represent the first attempts to open up and settle the Far North of South Australia. From 1858 onwards the Blanchewater Homestead was the centre of a profitable and expanding pastoral empire associated with the notable South Australians John Baker (1858) and Thomas Elder (1872). |
