The Schoenborn Cemetery gives an insight into the lives of early German settlers in the area and exhibits fine craftsmanship and artistic skill in the carvings and sculpture found on the memorials. The cemetery also contains 'some of the finest iron monuments in South Australia' (Barker, 146). The Schoenborn Cemetery, because of its compact size and historical use by a small rural community, is significant as a whole rather than as a collection of individual graves and should be regarded as one heritage place. |
