Significance Burdett's Property is significant for its collection of 400 Australian and South African plant species. Founded by William Burdett as a hobby, the garden was established in the 1920s and reached its peak in the 1930s, when it attracted many visitors. Although unplanned, it is a significant aesthetic achievement and has been described as one of the most significant private collections.
