Dwelling (sometime head station of 'Castambul' pastoral run) |
Registered Name |
Dwelling |
Significance |
This building, built in 1856, is of interest principally because of its unusual construction technique, set into the slope of a hill with the lower floor constructed of stone and mud, the upper floor constructed of timber. Originally part of a market gardening property, the house was later associated with Price Maurice as the head station of his 'Castambul' pastoral run (East Torrens Heritage Survey, 1994). |
