Details (Known As) Former Pompoota Post Office, General Store & Butcher
Registered Name Former Post Office, General Store & Butcher
Significance The former Pompoota Post Office, General Store & Butcher are significant surviving relics of the Government irrigation training farm for soldier settlers. All the buildings were constructed in about 1917. There were about 250 trainees, the single men living in a compound close to the shop. There was a resident butcher.
