Gumville Station (former Mount Remarkable [originally Willowie] Homestead) Complex, which includes Mount Remarkable Training Farm structures |
Registered Name |
Gumville Station (former Mount Remarkable Homestead) Complex |
Significance |
Of significance to South Australia as a reasonably intact, uncommon and notable collection of buildings which illustrate the workings and scale of one of the great pastoral stations that first occupied the Mount Remarkable area. The former Mount Remarkable Run is associated with John Howard Angas, a notable figure in South Australian history. As a training farm, the site is one of only two built and reflects community attitudes to returned First World War soldiers in a collection of unusual concrete buildings and structures.
