Lutheran Cemetery originally associated with the now demolished Klemzig Church |
Registered Name |
Klemzig Lutheran Cemetery |
Significance |
Established in 1838, the cemetery is significant because it contains the remains of some of the earliest German settlers in South Australia. The site is one of the earliest formal cemeteries in the State. It is also significant for its association with the original village of Klemzig which was the initial settlement point for Germans arriving in South Australia in the first few years of the colony (HSA, 1/2000). |
