Registered Name |
Divett Chambers |
Significance |
Originally the Advertiser Building (1881), providing offices for the newspaper and for rent. The only secular neo-gothic building in Port Adelaide, it has architectural merit and is also of historical significance, indicating the former importance of the Port in warranting an office of one of South Australia's major daily newspapers. The Advertiser's chief rival, the 'South Australian Register', had its office nearby. |
