Significance |
Dating from before 1830, the ruins of the sealing site on Thistle Island constitute a very rare example of structures surviving from before the official settlement of South Australia. They represent the economic exploration of maritime resources in the earliest period of European contact. The surroundings of the ruins have significant potential for archaeological research. |
