DESCRIPTION |
Details (Known As) |
Golden Grove House, including Stone Cellar/Store |
Registered Name |
Golden Grove House |
Significance |
The property, which gave its name to the surrounding district, was established in the early 1840s by Captain Adam Robertson. By the 1870s the house and its group of outbuildings was the focus of a holding of over 2000 acres of mixed agricultural land. 'Golden Grove House' and its farm-based outbuildings remain today as a tangible representation of a substantial 19th century farming complex in the hinterland of the Adelaide metropolitan area (HSA 9/2002). |
