Coralbignie (Houlderoo) Rocks [Designated as a place of geological significance] |
Registered Name |
Coralbignie (Houlderoo) Rocks |
Significance |
Coralbignie Rocks are of considerable interest to geomorphologists studying the effects of weathering on igneous rock such as granite. The unusually wide spacing of joints in the rock has resulted in a distinctive and unusual variety of landforms including flared slopes, 'Mexican Hat' features, platforms and other minor forms associated with the weathering and erosion of granite.
