Details (Known As) |
Southern abutment remains of 1857 North Arm Road Bridge |
Registered Name |
Southern abutment remains of 1857 Bridge, Old North Arm Road |
Significance |
The remains of the North Arm Road bridge across Magazine Creek are a significant relic of the early planning for South Australia's main port and the continuing plan to put into action Governor Gawler's proposal to relocate the port to the North Arm. The remaining timbers of the bridge provide physical evidence of the attempt to link Adelaide with the preferred port site. |
