Registered Name |
Norwood Courthouse and Police Station - 1938 building only |
Significance |
The Norwood Courthouse is one of only a few police courthouse buildings erected in the Adelaide metropolitan area in the interwar period. It reflects a significant change in policy of justice administration which decentralised police courts to suburban locations. The Norwood building is considered to be the most intact of three such courts built in the Georgian Revival style which accommodated both police and court functions within the same building.
