Significance Constructed in two main stages, this building was the Parkside Lunatic Asylum's original wash house, drying room and laundry, and was one of the earliest buildings to be erected on the site after the original main building. It is of some architectural significance for its simple, church-like style and detailing although a long pattern of interior adaptation has reduced its internal integrity.
