Significance |
Constructed for the Municipal Tramways Trust in 1946, the Converter Stations is significant for its association with the development of public transport in Adelaide, particularly the electric trams, which had their heyday between 1909-1958.
It is one of the later Converter Stations to be built, reflecting the expansion of the tramway network after the Second World War, and is one of the few remaining in the Adelaide metropolitan area. |
