Former Way Memorial Bible Christian Church |
Registered Name |
Religious Building - former Way Memorial Methodist Church |
Significance |
The original portion of this church was completed in 1851 as the second Bible Christian chapel to be built in South Australia. The church is associated with the early ministry of James Way, considered to be the father of the Bible Christian movement in South Australia, who founded the Bowden church. Later alterations and additions to the church reflect the growth of the Bible Christian church in general and the position of the Bowden church as the focus of the movement in this State (HSA, 12/2000). |
