| Significance |
Designed in the Early English Gothic style and built in 1873-74 as the second Anglican church in Moonta, the All Saints' Anglican Church is an excellent example of the influence of the Church of England in the mining community of Moonta and the prosperity of the Moonta Mines in the early 1870s. The principal aesthetic elements (exposed Hammer-beam roof structure, pipe organ and stained glass Memorial windows) reinforce the building's status as an important example of an Early English Gothic style church translated into Colonial South Australia (SHB Assessment Report, 7/1995). |
