| Significance |
The 'Glen Ewin' complex is of heritage significance as it was the site of the manufacture of Glen Ewin jams, very well-known products in South Australia. The complex of factory buildings, which is more or less complete, represents one of the largest industrial concerns of this type in South Australia. 'Glen Ewin' is also significant for its association with George McEwin, prominent in nineteenth century agricultural, horticultural and floricultural circles in South Australia. The complex also includes McEwin's family house. (HSA 6/1999). |
