Built in 1911, this bridge was one of a series of standard understrutted timber bridges built under the supervision of the Roads Department. It is of significance as one of the few remaining such bridges in the State and for being a timber bridge constructed at a time when reinforced concrete was becoming the preferred bridge building material (HSA, 1/2000).
